My name is Bill Hardiman, and I am running for Congress.

I ask for the honor of your vote on August 3.

The west Michigan area has a rich history and tradition. It has been my honor to be a public servant at the city level, and to also represent Grand Rapids and many surrounding suburbs at the state level (the same state senate seat that Paul Henry and Vern Ehlers once served in). We have been privileged to reflect the values and integrity of the people who call our area “home”. As a trusted leader in West Michigan, I understand elected office is about the people you serve.

For those of you who don't know, I didn’t grow up with every advantage in life; I was raised to value and appreciate the things that should matter in life: integrity, a strong work ethic, faith and family. Clova and I have been married for over 36 years. Service has been a key part of my life. I served my country in the Vietnam War. I served our community as mayor of the City of Kentwood, and I currently serve our state as state senator for the 29th District.

A wise person once said, “Service is the rent we pay to be living. It is the very purpose of life and not something you do in your spare time.” I’m running for Congress because I have a heart for service and I am tired of watching Washington style politics tear our great country apart. We need someone to TAKE ACTION and stop the corruption and partisan bickering that currently rules the day in our nation’s capitol.
